Jim Thorpe Bridge Replacement Project Interpretive Signage

The project involved the replacement of the S.R. 903 bridge over the Lehigh River and former Delaware & Lehigh Canal and the railroad tracks of Reading and Northern Railroad (west bank) and the Norfolk Southern Railroad (east bank) in the Borough of Jim Thorpe, Carbon County. The project, located within the Lehigh Gorge, is part of the Delaware and Lehigh National and State Heritage Corridor. As part of this project, A.D. Marble & Company prepared and designed two 24×36 interpretative signs highlighting the contributing features of the canal and the history of railroads in the region. Panels were formatted and designed according to guidelines established for all signage within the Delaware & Lehigh National Heritage Corridor. The development of the signage included review and coordination with multiple state agencies and stakeholders, including local historical societies and organizations.
